Object Summary

Wooden frame with layers of visible gesso and bole underneath water gilding. The water gilding is identifiable by its square sheets overlapping slightly, creating faint lines on the frame. Compo decoration and pads in corners. Identifiable through observation of broken/exposed areas. Previously added decorations on the frame visible by difference in gilding appearance, gaps where adhered, and repeats in cracks from other sections during casting. These pieces are oil gilded with a more matte appearance.
