Summary
Growing up in Chesterfield with Chatsworth House and Hardwick Hall on the doorstep, history and heritage have been a constant throughout my life. I had originally planned to do this degree 16 years ago though somehow ended up in the NHS, but my love of history remained a strong undercurrent throughout and I decided to pursue a career in conservation. Life is short and it really is never too late to follow your aspirations.
I particularly enjoy working with paper and archival objects, and have a keen interest in historic interiors, curation and interpretation.
Career Aspirations
Upon completion of the degree, my short-term goals are to obtain further experience in carrying out interventive treatments to archival documents. My long-term goal is to work in house and collections management with a view to moving into the curation of a property or museum.
